From Awareness to Action: A Guide For People Managers & Human Resource Professionals to Champion Infertility Support in the Workplace

This toolkit is designed for People Managers and/or Human Resource professionals to:

A.  Increase knowledge about  infertility, specifically: 

•Its growing prevalence as a chronic disease,

•Processes involved in medical treatments, and

•The many areas of life impacted during family-building.

B.  Illustrate the implications of infertility in the workplace, and the consequences of policies and benefits that unintentionally exclude these employees. 

C. Inform managerial practices and critically assess workplace policies and health benefits. Gaps in typical benefit provisions and leave policies have been highlighted, and suggestions for improvement have been made. This toolkit is intended to form the basis from which HR professionals can then discuss coverage needs with Senior Leaders and benefit carriers.
